   National Advisory Forum
   Last updated: January 17, 2003

In 1974, Beta Alpha Psi organized the National Advisory Forum. The Forum consists of accounting leaders from industry, public accounting and government who serve staggered three-year terms. The service and advice of these individuals is invaluable to the Fraternity. The Advisory Forum provides input from practicing accountants in decisions designed to continue Beta Alpha Psi’s position as a dynamic scholastic and professional accounting association. In recent years, the Forum has been asked to evaluate proposals involving (1) creation of a national directory, (2) participation in an insurance plan for student members, (3) consideration of funding sources—which culminated in their establishment of the Beta Alpha Psi ASSOCIATES, and (4) advice on how the Fraternity can best interface with the accounting profession.

The Board of Directors expresses the entire Fraternity’s appreciation of the numerous services and hours of time that Advisory Forum members have spent on its behalf. Forum members participated in regional meetings, the Thomas J. Burns Undergraduate Student Seminar, the Graduate Case Seminar, and made themselves available for local chapter meetings.
