Dear Faculty Advisors, Chapter Presidents and Chapter Reporters:
I hope you had a great time at our Annual Meeting and had a chance
to take in some of the culture and entertainment of San Francisco.
I want to get this message out to you early today as we were expecting
the system to go live earlier this week. We anticipate that by this
evening, our new Reporting Intranet will go live. We are extremely
happy to finally be launching our new site and hope you will find
it very easy to navigate and use. For those of you who attended
the tutorial sessions in San Francisco, you had a preview and know
what to expect. For everyone else, there is a tutorial for the new
Reporting Intranet (the link is on the homepage of the RI) that will
give you the ins and outs of the system.
Procedures for the week of August 22
If for some reason the system isn't live when you log in, please
don't call the executive office; we will know that it isn't operating.
It will be the weekend and not much can happen until Monday morning.
Once the system is live, please use the tutorials to get yourself
up to speed on the new system. For faculty advisors, you will continue
to use the same password. For chapter officers, if you attended one
of the tutorial sessions at the Annual Meeting, you know what the
password is. For those of you who didn't, you will receive it after
listening t o the tutorial. Please do not write or call the executive
office for the password or to answer basic questions that are covered
in the tutorial. We will be updating the FAQs within the next few
days.
If you encounter difficulty in entering information into the system,
please send an e-mail to Zoe Cheung at zcheung@bap.org.
Please indicate your chapter name and number, the password that you
used to log in and whether you are an officer or faculty advisors,
and list the steps that you took and the difficulty you encountered
at each step. We will monitor your questions and respond to you as
quickly as we can.
We will send you a status report on Wednesday, August 24 or sooner
if necessary.
Clothing, Jewelry, Framed Certificates
Over the summer, we have updated the offerings in the BAP store.
There are new jewelry items and we now have an abundant assortment
of shirts, jackets, backpacks and other clothing available. Coming
very soon, you will have the opportunity to order a framed certificate
with a customized plaque on it in honor of your initiation into Beta
Alpha Psi.
The vendors that we work with contribute to BAP, and their contributions
are appreciated. We, in turn, encourage you to patronize them. They
will make custom designs for your chapter or you can order straight
from the online catalogs. If your family or friends are looking for
a gift item for you, please encourage them to visit the BAP store.
T-shirts from the Annual Meeting
We have many orange t-shirts from the Community Service Day in size
large and a few smalls. If you would like a great souvenir, the cost
is $7/shirt which includes postage. If you would like to order in
bulk, the price is 4 for $20. Please send a check payable to “BAP” to
th e executive office at the address below. Please specify
size. This offer is good until all the shirts are gone. Don 't miss
out !
Reminder: Are there any BAP Bloggers?
If you or someone in your chapter has a blog about BAP (or if you
would like to start one), there is a publication that would like
to feature you and your blog! Some of you may have seen Start
Here Magazine and they would like to feature a student from
BAP who has kept a journal or diary about their college/university
experience. Your blog should talk about your chapter activities,
college courses, professors, friends, the all-nighters, possibly
an internship, interviewing, …the whole gamut of activities that
are part of life as a BAP member.
Please be in touch with Dassie Baum at hbaum@bap.org if
you have some writing to share or if you know someone who does. There
is a small honorarium if your blog is published.
