Dear BAP Faculty Advisors, Co-Faculty Advisors, Presidents and Reporters,

We hope that the new academic year is off to a great start for those of you already back in the classroom.

Reporting Intranet

I am happy to announce that the Reporting Intranet is up and working. We have encountered a few bugs (six in total) that need to be repaired. Some of the problems that we are experiencing are:

  • Quirks in updating the chapter profile.

  • On the membership roster the icons on the top right side of the screen should change colors once any of the boxes are checked off however the icons are remaining gray.

  • Some chapters are even experiencing problems with email addresses where an email address is changed and saved but then the initiation date disappears.

  • Finally, there is presently no option available to change members’ status from undergraduate to graduate student.

We are working diligently to resolve these problems. Some of the problems that I have described above are chapter specific whereas some may exist for everyone. The key programmer was on vacation this past week and he will be back and attending to these issues on Monday. Zoe Cheung, BAP’s Reporting Coordinator, will be on vacation this coming week. If you have written in regarding a problem, we have a log and we will let you know when they are resolved. Please be patient during this transition period, but do write if you encounter any system problems to bap@bap.org. Be sure to write SYSTEM PROBLEMS in the subject line of your email.

Please be sure to download the Excel workbook and become familiar with it. We will also be putting a link to it on the BAP homepage in the very near future.

TJ Burns Undergraduate and Graduate Case Seminars Registration

Registration is now open on the BAP Website www.BAP.org. for the seminars, October 14-15 in Minneapolis. The themes are Forensic Accounting, Corporate Ethics, and Corporate Value Creation. Each chapter may send one undergraduate and one graduate student to participate. Meals, rooms, and one-half of the travel expense (up to $200) are covered by BAP. Also, a special Friday evening event is being planned, sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers. We have a limited capacity, so encourage your students to sign up early. There is no assignment that needs to be completed in advance, a change from prior years.

Found at the Annual Meeting

A bracelet was found on Saturday at the Hyatt Regency. It may belong to either a man or a woman. If it is yours please write to hbaum@bap.org and describe it.
