Greetings Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisors, Co-Faculty Advisors,
Chapter Presidents and Reporters!
Temporary Transfers related to Hurricane Katrina
As you are aware, Beta Alpha Psi has chapters at the University
of New Orleans, Tulane University and Loyola University New Orleans
that are not functioning this semester due to Hurricane Katrina.
The BAP pledges and members in these chapters have disbursed to colleges
and universities across the country and some of them may have contacted
you regarding joining your chapter or participating in your chapter's
activities.
At the present time, Beta Alpha Psi will not transfer pledges and
members from their home chapter if it's one of the three colleges
mentioned to another chapter unless it is determined that the student
is permanently transferring to your campus. For students from these
three schools, BAP will waive the $15 transfer fee from now through
April 30, 2006. To make the transfer official your chapter
will need to send an email to bap@bap.org indicating
that the individual (name) from one of the 3 New Orleans schools
(school name) would like to transfer their membership. After we verify
their membership, you will need to add the individual to your membership
roster and we will modify the fee from $15 to $0.
In the interim, we encourage you to welcome these “visiting” students
to your campus and chapter. We request that you waive “chapter dues” for
this semester or quarter, however, meal and activity fees can be
charged. Beta Alpha Psi encourages collegiality and networking and
this is a great opportunity for your chapter to share with others.
Their participation in your chapter will not have any impact on your
chapter status.
Please communicate to each visiting member that they should keep
records of their individual participation which will then be credited
back to their home chapter when they return. We will attempt to communicate
with the students affected; however, we may not have current e-mail
addresses for them.
Reporting Intranet
When entering new pledges or changing membership status, the system
relies on popup window for the pledge start date or status change
date respectively. You must use Internet Explorer 4.0 or better and
enable popup's through your browser for the Reporting Intranet to
function properly. Other browsers (i.e. Netscape, Firefox) may not
be compatible with these features of the site.
