Subject:2006 Study Abroad In London Program

Greetings Faculty Advisors and Chapter Presidents!

Study in London this summer!  It is a wonderful city and you will enjoy your time there!  Let me provide a brief overview for you...

* This is the 15th year of  a very popular program provided by Oklahoma State University.
* Our accommodations are at Regent's College in North Central London (great location).  We use their classrooms, dormitory, computer lab, dining hall, etc.
* Students enroll in 6 academic credit hours.  Choose one class during Session 1 (June 3-16) and one class during Session 2 (June 19-July 1).
* The classes are held in the mornings, and on three early afternoons during the 4 weeks guest speakers from Regent's College will speak on aspects of the UK (e.g., the monarchy, the British press, the UK perspective on the EU, etc.).  There also may be a few other required class trips.  Most afternoons and all weekends are available for study, personal sightseeing and travel.
* Every course is tailored to take advantage of the UK setting and the individual faculty members arrange local field trips, guest speakers, experiential exercises, etc.
* The sightseeing opportunities in London are boundless.  One may select sites on their own.  However, to accommodate those wanting to visit sites with others, the faculty members post dates and sites on the general calendar and encourage others to join them.  Past excursions have included the British Museum, the Tower of London, the National Gallery, Windsor Castle, etc.  Many students travel on some weekends in self-arranged groups to Scotland, Paris, etc. while others take day trips to Cambridge, Brighton, Bath, etc.

In summary, the program provides a memorable experience.  Typical enrollment includes students from OSU and 6-8 other universities from throughout the U.S.  Seriously consider attending -- and inviting others from your institution to attend as well.  As a side note, we always have 15-20% of the students from fields other than business.

Here is the flier with the details of the program.  Please select ONE course in each session--you will be in one class during the first two weeks and in a second class during the second two weeks.  Please check with your advisor to make sure these classes are transferable to your university and will work for your degree plan.

To enroll in the program, please return the attached  "Registration Form" (both front and back need to be completed) and "Form A-B-C" along with the $400 deposit and a photo ("headshot"-best to use a passport photo).  It will be used for your Regent’s College ID.  The photo can be sent electronically, but we must receive it to complete your enrollment.

To enroll for graduate credit in the courses we will need 2 other pieces of information.  (Please note: graduate credit is not available for the accounting class),
        1.  A copy of your letter of acceptance into your university's graduate school.
        2.  A copy of a transcript showing that you already are taking graduate classes at your school.

Because you are not currently enrolled at OSU, and in order to get credit for the two Summer in London courses, you also will need to enclose a $40 admissions fee.  Please make a copy of the completed forms for your files and return the originals, your photo, a $400 deposit check, and a $40 admission check (both made payable to Oklahoma State University) to:

The Center for Executive and Professional Development
        Oklahoma State University
        215 Business Building
        Stillwater, OK  74078

The balance of the program fee ($3,575) will be charged to your OSU Bursar account on April 12.  It must be paid in full prior to leaving for London.

After you complete the courses and OSU records your grades, you can transfer the courses to your university by writing a letter and faxing or mailing the letter (with your signature) to the OSU Registrar.  If you have any questions, please contact me at 866-678-3933 or 405-744-5208.

We hope you can join us!
