Greetings Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisors, Co-Faculty Advisors, Chapter Presidents and Reporters!
Reporting Intranet
We hope that the new academic year is off to a great start. We are happy to announce that the Reporting Intranet is available. For those of you who attended the tutorial sessions in Washington, D.C. you should be able to navigate the system pretty easily. For everyone else, there is a tutorial for the Reporting Intranet (the link is on the homepage of the RI) that will give you the ins and outs of the system.
The 2006-2007 Chapter Workbook is also available to download and a link to the workbook can be found on the BAP homepage at www.bap.org. We are currently experiencing difficulties with opening the chapter workbook file. This issue should be resolved shortly and it is not due until December 15.
Beginning of the Year Report
The deadline for the Beginning of the Year Report has been extended to November 1, 2006. Be sure to complete the report in its entirety, which includes updating your chapter profile, entering your plan of activities, attaching your chapter bylaws (if applicable), submitting the annual maintenance fee prior to October 15th , and updating your chapter’s membership roster.
National Regional Activity Credit
The required NRA for award seeking chapters has been reduced to 8 for Superior status and 5 for Distinguished status. We have eliminated three NRAs (the resume upload, T.J. Burns Seminar and Graduate Case Seminar) and as a result reduced the overall requirements for award seeking chapters.
End of Year Reports - Tax Release Form
For chapters with gross receipts of less than $25,000, only a tax release form is required at year-end. The tax release form is signed and submitted to the Executive Office through the reporting intranet. For chapters with gross receipts in excess of $25,000, IRS Form 990 must be completed and signed. One copy of the signed form should be submitted to the Executive Office through the reporting intranet and one copy of the signed form should be mailed to the Executive Office. Do not mail a copy of Form 990 directly to the IRS. Any correspondence from the IRS directly to a chapter should be referred to the Executive Office for proper handling.
As a general rule, please do not initiate any correspondence with any tax authorities – federal, state or local. Please refer these issues to the executive office.
