Dear Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisors and Co-Advisors:

BAP has had seven of its eight regional meetings and we value your attendance and involvement.  We appreciate that you have encouraged your members to serve as host chapters, presenters, and participants in the “Best Practices” competitions.

We have experienced an increase of calls from chapter officers regarding questions related to the Reporting Intranet.  Please remind new officers to take advantage of the tutorials on the BAP Website. They are available 24/7 and will resolve most issues.

As the academic year and Beta Alpha Psi’s business year draw to a close, here are some areas where we need your help and attention:

1. Deadlines:
• BIPOY, Alumni Representative and Outstanding Faculty Advisor nominations -Due May 1st, 2007
• Uploading the workbook to the Reporting Intranet – Due June 1st.
2. All Chapters with gross revenue of more than $25,000 must have an audit and submit IRS Form 990 to the Executive Office. BAP’s tax year end is April 30th.  If your chapter receives a communication from the IRS or other taxing authorities, please forward the correspondence to the Executive Office for response.
• IRS 990 Form - This only applies to chapters with average gross receipts of $25,000 or more for the past three years.
• Audit – A chapter must have an audit if their gross receipts for the current year exceed $25,000.
• The 990 rule is a 3-year average, while the audit rule is 1 year
3. All chapters are expected to submit their pledge fees as soon as possible. Many chapters still have outstanding balances of 60 days or more.
4. BAP is now offering graduation cords which are available on our website: http://www.bap.org/forms/strindex.htm
5. Annual Meeting – Chapters can now reserve their hotel rooms in Chicago for our annual meeting, August 2-4, 2007. Even though we have an outside date for our room rate (July 7th), if our room block is sold-out earlier than that date, there is no guarantee that we will be able to get additional rooms at that price. Our goal is to have registration for the Annual Meeting available on the website no later than April 15th.
