Hi everyone,

The end-of-the-year is here! Please note the following important information:

  1. We want to thank all the chapters who nominated students for the Alumni Rep position and Project Run With It – the response was excellent.
  2. BAP proudly welcomes our newest chapter, from the University of Auckland, New Zealand –The Auckland Chapter was installed on May 5th, 2009!
  3. June 1st - End of Year Reports are due. – Absolutely No Exceptions - If you’re late you will not be eligible for Award Status.
    1. Update Chapter Profile – Please make sure all address, faculty advisor and officer information is complete and accurate.
    2. Financial Statements – Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Financial Activities. The Reporting Intranet can now accept Excel version 2007.
    3. Complete the tax information, which includes an authorization to include your chapter in a group exemption.
      1. If you indicate that your chapter had average gross receipts (for the past three years) > $25,000, you must also download the IRS Form 990, complete it, scan it and attach it. No EZ 990 Forms will be accepted!
      2. If your chapter had receipts < $25,000, chapters are required to file the Form 990-N (e-Postcard) online at: Form 990-N, e-Postcard – You will need:
        1. Chapter Tax ID number (EIN)
        2. Chapter Name
        3. Please use the name of the Faculty Advisor for the Principal Officer
        4. Confirm that your receipts are less than $25,000
        5. You should receive a submission ID number after submitting the e-Postcard. The Faculty Advisor must enter this number into the Reporting Intranet in the End of Year Report (Faculty Advisor Sign-off section)
    4. Faculty Advisor Sign Off. – All FAs must sign off by June 1st – No Exceptions.
  4. June 1st - All KPMG Gold Challenge videos must be postmarked by June 1st and submitted to the Executive Office.
  5. June 1st - All Ernst & Young Diversity Initiatives – 2nd Abstracts must be submitted to the Executive Office to Dassie Baum at: hbaum@aicpa.org.
  6. Register Now for the 2009 Annual Meeting in Brooklyn, NY -2009 Annual Conference
    1. a. June 15th is the Early Bird Cutoff Date! Rates: Early Bird $200 and $225 after June 15th.
  7. Fulbright Scholar Program for US Faculty and Professionals for 2010-2011 is open.
    1. a. The Fulbright Scholar Program offers 105 grants in lecturing, research or combined lecturing/research awards in business administration, including 6 Fulbright Distinguished Chairs. Even better, faculty and professionals in business administration also can apply for one of the 144 “All Discipline” awards open to all fields.
    2. b. The application deadline is August 1, 2009. U.S. citizenship is required.
