The BAP Nominating Committee (comprised of the President, President Elect, Director of Activities for Chapter Advocates, Advisory Forum Chair, Dean and Past President) is seeking nominations for the following Board member position with the term to begin in August 2010:
The President Elect will serve a three year term in the positions of President Elect, President and Past President from 2010-2013. The Board of Directors will approve a nominee at the January Board meeting to be presented to the chapters for a vote in the spring.
We are also requesting nominations for the following two Chapter Advocate (CA) positions:
- Chapter Advocate (Southwest Region) – 2010-2013
- Chapter Advocate (Atlantic Coast Region) - 2010-2013
These individuals will serve as the CA representatives on the Board of Directors during the third year of their term. The nominating committing will recommend a candidate to the Board of Directors at the January Board meeting. The board will elect the final candidates.
Being a Chapter Advocate is a great way to become more involved with BAP. These individuals are responsible for overseeing multiple chapters, encouraging the petitioning process, mentoring new faculty advisors, and helping chapters reach their goals. In addition to overseeing the chapters in their region, the CA assumes responsibility for a broad area of chapter activities. First year CAs assume responsibility for the Program of Chapter Activities while second year CAs are responsible for petitioning chapters and competitions. The third year CAs will serve on the Board of Directors.
