RE: First Call for BA? 2011 Annual Meeting Presenters
Attachment: Interest Form 1 - Due by February 18th, 2011

The 2011 BA? Annual Meeting will be held in Denver, CO on August 11-13 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown. The theme for this year's activities is "The Bridge to Our Future." Involvement by chapters and their members is an essential "value added" ingredient in each year's annual meeting. Presenters and chapters benefit both by presenting and learning from presentations by others. This is a valuable exchange of ideas and energy.

As a way to best match the program topics and needs with your interests and skills, we are asking chapters interested in presenting at the 2011 annual meeting to complete the form that follows and return it as soon as possible to BAP2011@fairfield.edu, but no later than February 18, 2011.

We will continue successful and popular sessions from prior years and we would like to add new sessions on topics you suggest. Please feel free to volunteer for one of these suggested sessions or propose a new one:

  1. Successful Fundraising Strategies: Generating funds to provide for worthwhile chapter activities can be challenging. Chapters can share their experiences about what has worked.
  2. Recruiting New Chapter Members: This session will allow the sharing of ideas on how to attract candidates and how to sustain their interest level as active members. Especially important are innovative ways to recruit Finance and Information Systems students.
  3. Key Drivers for Successful Chapters: This session will share ideas of how to identify and then implement these factors. Special challenges exist for both large and small chapters.
  4. Developing Effective Leaders: Chapters change officers every year, and individuals are generally involved in BAP for only one or two years. This session will focus on the "secrets to success" that chapters develop to ensure the ongoing success of the chapter.
  5. Operational Workshops for Chapter (a) Presidents, (b) Treasurers, and (c) Reporters: Experienced representatives of each of these offices that will be available for anyone with specific help or assistance that is needed. (Please note both the number 5 and letter (a, b, c) in the space provided on the interest form to indicate which workshop your chapter would like to participate in). Reminder: the presenter must be a current or past holder of the office.
  6. How to Keep Your Alumni Involved: Share your chapter's ideas regarding efforts to tap into this valuable resource.
  7. Preparing Members for the Work Place: A practical session for sharing successful programs that your chapter holds to prepare members for entering the professional working world.
  8. Innovative Career Networking: Share your chapter's creative ideas for career networking events, especially in a difficult job market.
  9. Running a Successful VITA Program: If you chapter is currently participating in VITA, share your success and challenges during a roundtable discussion.
  10. Meaningful Service Projects: In this session, chapters will share their experiences with other chapters who would like to expand their service opportunities.
  11. Proposed Session: If you have an idea for a session that you believe other BA? chapters will be interested in, please send us a one paragraph summary or description similar to those provided for items 1-10.

You will be notified by mid-March regarding the session you have been assigned. Please note that you will be required to submit a one-paragraph abstract of your plans for any assigned session by April 18, 2011.

Also, this interest form does not relate to Best Practices presentations and participating in Project Run With It; information on competing in these programs is available on the BA? website at www.bap.org or you can contact your chapter advocate.

Thank you in advance for helping us helping us plan the meeting!
