During the spring semester at the University of Kentucky, the Alpha Mu chapter of Beta Alpha Psi will hold a fundraiser for the students of the College of Business and Economics. This fundraiser will target juniors getting ready to enter their senior year.

The officers have planned to organize several speakers to explain and advise the juniors as to the recruiting process for the following fall semester. Administrative staff from the University's Career Center will explain the overall process. This will be helpful to the students because application deadlines usually begin a week after class begins. One advisor for the College of Business and Economics is also expected to speak on the importance of resume-building during the summer before the fall semester begins. The advisor will also emphasize the significant difference that a mock-interview can make in developing interpersonal communication skills. Other planned speakers include two students two students who have successfully completed the recruiting process in the previous semester. Another student will talk about his/her failure to be organized at the beginning of the semester and what he/she would do differently. Before the conclusion of the workshop, representatives from each student organization in the Business College will be invited to introduce the organization and tell of its objectives. This will allow students to be more aware of the opportunities and benefits of being involved in extracurricular activities.

As with any other fundraiser, the event will have a minimal charge. Companies from the surrounding community will be invited to take part in this event which can include donating door prizes for the attendants. In the current semester, the Beta Alpha Psi officers have found many people who would have benefited from this information. This fundraiser will definitely be of great benefit to the students and hopefully to the Alpha Mu chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.
