Ground Transportation:

When arriving at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, transportation to The Fairmont Hotel is available via Discount Shuttle & Tours airport shuttle service. Courtesy phones are located outside the baggage claim area. Simply collect your baggage and located the courtesy phone at the GROUND TRANSPORTATION BOARD and dial '08' or call METRO at (817) 267-5150 and provide the information requested to the agent. You will be instructed where to go to wait for the shuttle. There is a transit time of approximately 30-45 minutes. The one-way fare is $11.00. ( Please see the enclosed coupon worth $2.00 off this service). Transportation is also available via taxi with an approximate one-way fare of $30-$35 and a transit time of approximately 30 minutes.

If you are planning to drive to the hotel, there is valet parking available at a rate of $12.00 per day with unlimited in/out privileges.

Hotel Information:

Conference fees do not include hotel accommodations. For reservations please call The Fairmont Hotel directly at (800) 527-4727. Identify yourself as an attendee of the 1997 AICPA/Beta Alpha Psi Fraternity Conference in order to obtain our rates of $94.00 single/ double or $104.00 triple/quad. Reservations must be made by July 9, 1997. After this date, rooms will be on a space available basis only. All reservation requests must be guaranteed by check or by use of a major credit card.

Hotel Reservation Cancellation Policy:

Full refunds will be issued to cancellation requests received 10 days prior to scheduled arrivals. Non-guaranteed reservations will be canceled after ten days if not guaranteed by check or major credit card.

Conference Cancellation Policy:

Full refunds will be issued on written cancellation requests received by July 25, 1997. Written requests received after this date, but before August 1, 1997, will be charged a $25.00 administrative fee. Due to financial obligations incurred by Beta Alpha Psi, no refunds will be issued on cancellation requests received after August 8, 1997.

Messages can be left for attendees by calling The Fairmont Hotel at (214) 720-2020 and asking for the AICPA Registration Desk. Facsimiles can be faxed to (214) 720-5282 and will be delivered to the recipient. When sending faxes, be sure to include guest's full name and arrival date.

Dress:

The appropriate attire for this conference is business casual. Although a jacket is not required, you may want to bring a sweater or a jacket since conference rooms are typically cool.

National Leadership Conference

Beta Alpha Psi will host the 1997 National Leadership Conference in cooperation with the YMCA of the USA. Please see the attached form regarding this special event.

Beta Alpha Psi
1997 National Leadership Conference
August 12-14, 1997

Join us for the annual National Leadership Conference hosted by Beta Alpha Psi in conjunction with the YMCA of the USA. Participants will be transported to the YMCA's Camp Grady Spruce on the tranquil Possum Kingdom Lake.

The fee for this optional event is $100.00 per person and includes transportation, lodging, meals, team building training, and Challenge Course support personnel. The appropriate attire for this conference is comfortable, athletic clothing since you will be engaging in outdoor activities.

Participants are advised to take the first flight available into Dallas on Tuesday, August 12, 1997. You will be responsible for your own transportation from the DFW International Airport to the downtown YMCA, located across the street from the Fairmont Hotel (the enclosed coupon for the airport shuttle service may be used here).

You will have use of the YMCA facilities and may pick up your registration materials while you wait to depart in groups for Camp Grady Spruce. There will be late afternoon activities and the transit time is approximately 2 hours.

Please bear in mind that the Fairmont Hotel will not allow you to check bags while you are attending the Leadership Conference. Therefore, please pack accordingly. The first shuttle bus departing for Camp Grady Spruce will be between 10:00am-11:00am. The last shuttle will depart around 2:00pm. The Leadership Conference is scheduled to begin between 4:00pm-5:00pm.

The following is a list of suggested items students are responsible for at the Leadership Conference:

Twin sheet set or hostel sheet sack and pillow
Towel and washcloth
Flashlight with batteries
Insect repellant
Sunglasses
Shoes appropriate for the challenge course

Do not bring food as it attracts insects and wild animals such as skunks. You may not have access to electrical outlets for appliances such as hair dryers.
