"As an undergraduate at The Ohio State University, I was eager to develop a good resume to facilitate my career opportunities.  When I was invited to join a variety of honor societies, I did so. That typically consisted of writing a check for the entry fee and attending a dinner event to receive a certificate, a handshake and a pat on the back.

Beta Alpha Psi was unique.  We engaged in substantive programs with professionals that enhanced our professional development and other meaningful activities that expanded our perception of what it meant to be a professional.

As an officer of Omicron Chapter, I was required to speak publicly (when I would rather not have) and developed personal relationships with professionals who were influential in my career.  I was assigned responsibility for planning the National Student Seminar on Publishing Earnings Forecasts hosted by Ohio State in 1976.  I benefited enormously from my active participation in Beta Alpha Psi, and developed lifelong friendships with some outstanding classmates.

As a faculty member of Northern Illinois University, I became the faculty advisor to Gamma Pi Chapter in 2003.  I have been honored to serve in that role ever since.  I hope these high-potential NIU students will gain the same benefits from BAP that I did.  Some have told me that BAP has been the highlight of their collegiate experience.  BAP continues to be unique."
