August 6, 2020

The health, safety, and well-being of our Beta Alpha Psi members and stakeholders is our top priority; therefore after much deliberation it has been decided that the Annual Meeting will be held virtually. This year's theme involves reviewing our past accomplishments from a new perspective as we begin Beta Alpha Psi's second century. At the Annual Virtual Meeting in August we will continue to Honor the Past and Embrace the Future.

Beta Alpha Psi President, Brian McGuire; Mark Myring, the 2020 Meeting Chair; and Matthew Anderson, the 2020 Program Chair; are working diligently to plan a fun-filled and educational meeting for all of you!

This year’s annual meeting will be offered as a combined virtual format, one live 3-hour session on Thursday, August 6th from 3-6 PM ET and offline virtual pre-recorded sessions that the chapters (candidates & members)  will have access to through the fall of 2020.

Reporting Hours: The Professional Partners are working on developing a database of free, pre-recorded content for all chapters, which candidates and members can utilize for fall sessions and reporting hours.

CPE Sessions: The Professional Partners are currently working on putting together CPE packages for our faculty advisors who need Continuing Education. Stay tuned!

Congratulations to all first places winners from your 2020 BAP Regional Meeting Best Practices competition!

Chapters participating in the Best Practices competition for the 2020 Annual Virtual Meeting must submit their pre-recorded video and PowerPoint presentation here by Tuesday, June 30th by 11:59PM ET, no exceptions.

Rules & Requirements:

  • Recorded video cannot exceed 8 minutes in length. Anything past the 8 minute mark will not be judged.
  • PowerPoint presentations must be included in the form submission. Any chapter that does not include a PPT will not be qualified.
  • Videos must be publicly posted on YouTube for BAP to share.
  • Per Appendix A in the Best Practices Manual, the presentation and PPT itself must essentially be the same as provided at the regional meeting; however, minor editorial/grammatical changes, reordering of major points, and updates to any results are permissible. Original abstract submissions will be pulled by the Executive Office and given to the judges for judging along with the video and PPT presentation that is provided.

The following are options to record your Best Practices presentations:

  • Have a single team member deliver the presentation with PowerPoint.
  • Have each team member record their portion separately, then combine the video files.
  • If the students have access to Zoom, create a Zoom meeting and record a presentation that way.

Additional requirements:

  • Videos should be uploaded to YouTube under the submitting BAP chapter's YouTube account or the account of someone participating in the video.
  • The video should be made public or unlisted on YouTube. Do not make the video private.
  • The video must be able to be embedded, so that it can be posted to our judges web page.
  • Winners will be announced during the live virtual session Meeting on Thursday, August 6th from 3-6 PM ET.
