Beta Alpha Psi Welcomes Two New Board Members for Coming Term

Durham, N.C. (February 16, 2021) – Beta Alpha Psi recently announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors. The newly elected Board members are Kimberly Ellison-Taylor and Paul Wiese..

Beta Alpha Psi Executive Director, Margaret Fiorentino, announced “We are very excited about the new incoming officers and the knowledge and experience they will bring to our organization.”

Kimberly Ellison-Taylor, CPA, CGMA, CISA, Incoming President-elect – Kimberly Ellison-Taylor is a Global Technology and Finance leader with over 29 years of career achievements. She is a sought after keynote speaker and has received many awards and recognitions for her expertise and leadership including Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and CPA Practice Advisor's 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting.

For the last 16 years, Ellison-Taylor has served in global leadership roles for Oracle Corporation.  Currently, Kimberly advises C-Suite Executives on cloud solutions that innovate and transform business. Ellison-Taylor is also an adjunct professor for Carnegie Mellon University’s Chief Information Officer Certificate program teaching Emerging Technologies & Innovation. 

Other professional achievements include tenure at Prince George’s County Government, KPMG, Motorola, and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  Ellison-Taylor has an undergraduate degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, a MBA from Loyola University, an Accounting Certificate from Baltimore County Community College and a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University in Information Technology Management as well as a Chief Information Officer certificate. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Global Management Accountant, and Certified Information Systems Auditor. 

Kimberly has volunteered in the profession for over 20 years including leadership positions as Chairman of the American Institute of CPAs, Chairman of the Association of Certified Professional Accountants, and Chairman of the Maryland Association of CPAs. In her personal life, Kimberly is also committed to volunteerism and has served in various leadership positions, including President for her local chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., a community service organization that serves women, youth, and families, seniors and the military.  Her personal reflection is To Whom Much is Given, Much is Required. 

Ellison-Taylor is married to her college sweetheart, Darius Sr and they have two sons Dominic, a high school junior and Darius II, a college freshman. 

Paul Wiese, Incoming Director of Global Activities – Paul Wiese serves as Vice-President of Strategic Partnerships for Surgent Professional Education. In this role, Paul oversees all university relationships and operations nationally, providing innovative e-learning solutions to both accounting and finance students and faculty. He has previously served as Director of Business Development for Roger CPA Review and in a regional management role with Becker Professional Education. Paul is actively involved on a national level with Beta Alpha Psi, the international honor organization for financial information students and professionals, and serves as a consultant on a variety of accounting advisory and professional development panels.

 

Chapter Advocacy Council Incoming 1st Year Chapter Advocates:

Jason Stanfield (Midwest Region) – Jason “Dr. Stan” Stanfield, assistant professor of accounting at Ball State University, received his PhD from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in 2011, and also holds an MBA from Ball State University and an undergraduate degree from Purdue. Before joining the faculty at Ball State, Jason was an instructor at Purdue. Prior to his doctoral studies, Jason had a career in sales management and was also an entrepreneur. Jason has been involved with Beta Alpha Psi as a faculty advisor at both Purdue and Ball State since 2011, and has won many undergraduate teaching awards. As a scholar, his research has been published in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Education, Journal of Accountancy, and CPA Journal. Jason is regularly involved in the academic accounting community, and currently serves as Council Representative for the Midwest Region of the American Accounting Association after a term as President of the same region.

Fred Ng (Oceania Region) – Dr. Fred Ng is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting & Finance at the University of Auckland Business School, where he completed his undergraduate degree and PhD. He joined as faculty advisor for the Auckland Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi in 2017. Fred is leading a research project for future planning in the Oceania Region of Beta Alpha Psi.
