Lisa Owens-Jackson

Lisa Owens-Jackson, Ph.D., CPA is the Chairperson of the Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University. She teaches both financial and managerial accounting in the undergraduate and MBA program. Dr. Owens-Jackson was recognized as the recipient of the 2017 North Carolina Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching. She was the faculty advisor of the Zeta Sigma Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi for 10 years and was recognized as a 2016 Faculty Advisor of the Year. Her research concentrates on accounting education and the use of financial and managerial accounting information in governance and decision making. She is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the American Accounting Association, the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, The PhD Project, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma.

Dr. Owens-Jackson received her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 2001. She has a BS degree from North Carolina A&T State University and MA degree from The Ohio State University. She resides in Whitsett, NC with her husband, Mr. Randall Jackson.
