Marci Butterfield

Marci Butterfield is an associate professor in her 15th year of teaching at the University of Utah.  She teaches financial and managerial undergraduate courses. She has approximately 300 students each semester and learns every one of their names.  She feels extremely fortunate to be able to work with her students.  She has been the Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisor for the past 14 years and was the Beta Alpha Psi President when she attended the University of Utah as a student where she received her undergraduate degree in accounting as well as an MBA.  She is a CPA licensed with the state of Utah. She worked at Arthur Andersen in the Audit and Assurance practice before coming to the U of U. She works with students going through the recruiting process and encourages them to be wonderful professionals as well as service oriented individuals that give back to their communities.  She also teaches in the Business Scholars program where she introduces the accounting profession to freshman and transfer students.  She is excited to begin her duties as the chapter advocate for the Rocky Mountain and Missouri Valley Regions.  She is married to Lee Butterfield who is the CFO for Utah Housing Corporation and also a CPA, has six children, eight beautiful granddaughters and one grandson at the present time.  She was an Elite Gymnastics Judge for 20 years and was honored to judge NCAA Regionals and Finals as well as private gymnastics competitions and is passionate about the sport.  She loves to exercise, cook, read, and travel. She loves Beta Alpha Psi and hopes to become a valuable addition in her new role.
