Gisela Cortez is a Cleveland State University student in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance. She is planning to pursue her master’s in Accountancy and Analytics next. During her senior year, she served as the president of the Delta Psi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, where under her leadership, the organization was awarded “Organization of the Year,” and she was honored as the “Leader of the Year” at Cleveland State University.
Throughout her academic journey, Gisela has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a passion for service. She is a proactive advocate for her community and is actively involved on campus. She has served as an ambassador for Becker, UWorld, and the Ohio Society of CPAs. Additionally, she has been a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board at her university and has volunteered with the VITA program, helping individuals file their taxes.
Her dedication to accounting and her desire to give back have led her to continue her involvement with Beta Alpha Psi, currently serving as the media representative. She is passionate about giving back to the community that has supported her academic journey, acknowledging that without the mentorship and guidance from faculty, peers, and organizations like BAP, she wouldn’t be where she is today
Collaborating with Beta Alpha Psi not only strengthens the accounting profession but also supports the development of a new generation committed to advancing and upholding the integrity of the profession.
