Jalen Valdecantos, CPA

1st-Year Alumni Advocate

Jalen Valdecantos is a Tax Consultant at Deloitte residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. Professionally, he is part of Deloitte's Business Tax Services practice, serving Fortune 500 and Middle Market clients across various industries on the West Coast, providing tax compliance, audit, and consulting services. He holds a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Jalen is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Nevada.

Before his career in accounting, Jalen worked in marketing and sales for four years in roles at Meta and Apple. He also owned and operated a marketing agency delivering paid advertising services to direct-to-consumer small businesses across the United States.

As a UNLV student, Jalen served as the Engagement Director for the Theta Omicron chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. During his tenure, he focused on growing membership, leading recruiting efforts to increase membership, innovating on the chapter's leadership structure by expanding the team, and fostering cross-organizational relationships with other BAP chapters and student organizations to add value for its members. 
Outside of work, you can find Jalen staying active by playing basketball or volleyball, hiking, running, or volunteering in community projects through his church, Iglesia Ni Cristo. He also enjoys traveling, is a foodie and cinephile, and values spending quality time with family and friends.
