Help Students Become the Professionals They're Meant to Be
Bring Beta Alpha Psi to Your Campus
Every student arrives on campus with potential. As educators, you help them build the knowledge and technical skills they'll carry throughout their careers.
For more than a century, Beta Alpha Psi has helped faculty prepare students for successful careers by developing leadership, professional confidence, ethical decision-making, and meaningful connections with the profession. Whether your students plan careers in accounting, finance, business technology, and analytics, they'll graduate better prepared to earn the trust placed in today's professionals.
A Proven Way to Expand Your Impact
As a Faculty Advisor, you'll help students transform classroom learning into leadership, professional engagement, and service that prepare them for long-term career success while strengthening your academic program.
Through Beta Alpha Psi, students:
Develop professional integrity and ethical decision-making.
Build leadership skills through service and chapter involvement.
Connect with employers and the profession.
Graduate with the experience and confidence employers value.
At the same time, Beta Alpha Psi helps strengthen your academic program by increasing student engagement, deepening employer relationships, and connecting your institution with an internationally recognized organization dedicated to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and professional development.
Technical expertise alone isn't enough to earn the trust of employers, clients, colleagues, and the public. Students entering accounting, finance, business technology, and analytics also need integrity, sound judgment, and professional confidence.
Through meaningful service, leadership opportunities, and engagement with the profession, students develop the ethical foundation and professional confidence that define excellence and ethics.
Each year, Beta Alpha Psi chapters put these values into practice through more than 4,000 professional activities, 1,700+ service activities, and more than 9,000 free tax returns prepared through the IRS’s VITA program.
These experiences prepare graduates not only to succeed professionally but to uphold the standards and earn the trust that defines the profession.

Starting and leading a Beta Alpha Psi chapter doesn't mean doing it alone.
Every new and existing chapter is paired with an experienced Chapter Advocate, a current or former Faculty Advisor who understands the opportunities and challenges of leading a successful chapter.
Your Chapter Advocate provides personalized, one-on-one guidance before, during, and after chapter induction. Whether you're petitioning for a new chapter, strengthening chapter operations, planning leadership transitions, or navigating unique circumstances, you'll have an experienced mentor to answer questions, share best practices, and help you succeed.
You'll also be supported by the Beta Alpha Psi Executive Office, connecting you with resources, guidance, and the collective knowledge of our international network of Faculty Advisors.
From your first conversation through years of chapter leadership, you'll have an experienced partner every step of the way.
Starting a chapter is a significant step, and it’s natural to have questions. Here are answers to the topics Faculty Advisors and administrators ask us about most often.
Who can start a Beta Alpha Psi chapter?
If your institution is a non-profit with an accredited business school, you may petition to establish a chapter. You'll need faculty sponsors and students pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, business technology, or analytics with a record of strong academic achievement. BAP Chapter Advocates will guide you through the entire process.
What if we're a community college?
The Emerging Scholars Chapter pathway allows community colleges or two-year schools to bring the benefits of Beta Alpha Psi to their campus, giving students access to leadership development, professional connections, service opportunities, and career preparation. To petition, you'll need a faculty advisor and a minimum number of academically qualified students majoring in business. BAP Chapter Advocates will guide you through every step.
How much support will we receive?
You won't be doing this alone. Beta Alpha Psi has supported successful chapters for more than a century. Your Executive Office contact will answer questions, share practical advice, and provide one-on-one guidance before, during, and after your chapter is installed. Along the way, you'll also have access to the resources, best practices, and network of an international organization with more than 390,000 members and 300+ chapters.
What are the requirements for students?
Student eligibility depends on the chapter pathway. Beta Alpha Psi Chapters are designed for students pursuing accounting, finance, business technology, or analytics and require specific academic standards. Emerging Scholars Chapters are open to students majoring in business who meet the program's academic requirements. In both pathways, students are expected to participate in professional development, service, and chapter activities. We'll walk you through the specific requirements for your institution.
How long does it take to establish a chapter?
Most Beta Alpha Psi Chapters and Emerging Scholars Chapters go from inquiry to installation within 6–12 months, although the timeline depends on your institution, the pathway you choose, and how quickly you complete the required steps. We'll provide a realistic roadmap and guide you through the process from start to finish.
Is there a cost?
Yes. There are one-time establishment and membership fees, along with an annual chapter maintenance fee. Many institutions incorporate these costs into their student organization budgets. We'll be happy to discuss the costs and funding options that apply to your institution.
Beta Alpha Psi Regular Chapters: $2,000 one-time installation fee (once the chapter has been approved by the BAP Board of Directors), $325 annual maintenance fee, $85 one-time candidacy fee per student.
Emerging Scholars Chapters: $300 one-time installation fee, $100 annual maintenance fee, and a $20 one-time membership fee for each student.
How much work is involved for the Faculty Advisor?
The Faculty Advisor is the chapter's anchor. You provide continuity, mentorship, and oversight while students lead. Your commitment varies: lighter during some seasons, busier during meetings and events. You're not alone: Chapter Advocates, a faculty advisor network, and established playbooks help you build sustainable chapter practices without reinventing the wheel.
What if I'm not sure our institution qualifies?
