
Dr. Jimmy Carmenate, CPA is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Accounting at Florida International University. He brings more than 20 years of experience across accounting, finance, taxation, and human resources, with extensive expertise in public and governmental accounting. He previously served as Senior Associate Controller and Director of Purchasing Services at Florida International University.
A Florida Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Dr. Carmenate is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Accounting Association. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University, a Master of Accounting from Florida International University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami. His doctoral research focused on auditor independence and financial reporting in mergers and acquisitions.
