Richard S. Barnes is an Associate Professor (Career Track) in the Department of Accounting at Washington State University Carson College of Business, where he teaches financial and tax accounting and studies tax policy. A former CEO of the largest tax accounting firm in the Carolinas, he holds an LL.M. in taxation (magna cum laude) from the University of Alabama and a J.D. and Master of Accountancy from the University of South Carolina, and serves as faculty advisor to the Delta Epsilon chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.
